Series have been taking over Hollywood for years. Where the movie industry used to look down on the world of TV, we have seen the biggest actors making the switch from the big screen to the little screen over the past few years.

While big USA tv channels like HBO, FOX and Showtime have been broadcasting tv shows for years, the immense growth in popularity has boosted budgets and so quality of the series hugely.

My all time favorites:

1. Entourage

Newbie movie star Vince Chase, learns the ropes of the industry and the the glamourous world of the wealthy happy few in and around Hollywood, but not alone: he brings from his native New York his atypical ‘ entourage, his close circle of friends since childhood (all brilliant characters, you will love Drama). Vince chooses LA professional Ari Gold (biggest hero ever) as his agent who steels the show with the most energetic and loveable acting. Over the course of the Series, they progress from kids from Queens, to actors, to producers continuously trying to land the perfect movie for Vincent.

2. Californication

A self-loathing, alcoholic writer named Hank Moody attempts to repair his damaged relationships with his daughter and ex-wife while combating sex addiction, a budding drug problem, and the seeming inability to avoid making bad decisions. Brilliant dialogues and punch-lines, hilarious scenes and yes, very fit women. Hank Moody is the shit.

3.  Suits

On the run from a drug deal gone bad, Mike Ross, a brilliant college-dropout, finds himself a job working with Harvey Specter, one of New York City’s best lawyers. The interaction between Mike and Harvey is awesome to watch and Louis Litt and Donna steal the show with great performances. A definite must-watch!

4. House of Cards

The fact that Kevin Spacy is the lead actor should be sufficient to get you watching this show. Congressman Francis Underwood takes you on a long journey as he exacts his vengeance on those he feels wronged him – that is, his own cabinet members including the President of the United States himself. Dashing, cunning and vicious. Frank Underwood along with his equally manipulative yet ambiguous wife, Claire, take Washington by storm through climbing the hierarchical ladder to power. Brilliant and dark.

5. The Blacklist

A highly articulate and intelligent businessman and mastermind, “Red” Reddington, has allegedly been on the “10 Most Wanted List” of America for over 20 years. The legend is that Red is as elusive as he is clever; Red built and controls a veritable labyrinth of creative enterprises coupled with uncanny ability to gather and finesse information at the drop of a hat. On the first day at FBI for a new female profiler fresh out of Quantico, Red offers to bandy wits with the FBI. Red promises to deliver various criminals and plots previously unknown to any branch of law enforcement… and all Red requests in return is to choose his muse.
